First Stop - TD Saturday Market:
This popular Main Street gem is worth rising and shining for! There is always a full roster of local and regional venders of produce, artisanal baked goods (and other foods), seafood, and handmade crafts on hand to help you fill your morning with great purchases that not only make you smile, but help the local economy, as well! Insider's Tip: Be sure to check out the live music and cooking demos offered at the TD Saturday Market. Visit the Market's website for times and event schedules.
Second Stop - Dark Corner Distillery:
This grown-ups-only stop features hand-crafted moonshines that pay homage to the heritage of this region's "Dark Corner" distilleries of lore. From Apple-achian Shine to The Green Villain, their specialty moonshine selection is creative and fun to sample, and they offer other spirits, too. Insider's Tip: Visit the Dark Corner Distillery's website for unique cocktail recipes featuring many of their unique spirits, and to check for upcoming "Distiller Training" classes for the public!
Third Stop - Art Crossing at RiverPlace:
Head South on Main Street for a little artful shopping from some of Greenville's many talented artists and craftspeople! Stop into the individual studios (a favorite of mine is studio 107, Jared Emerson) to see what the artists are creating and to ask them questions about their work! Insider's Tip: You'll find many different types of art to suit every style at Art Crossing. From photography and jewelry, to painting and mosaics...there really is something for everyone!
Last Stop - The Cook's Station:
THAT Something Extra:
On with the show...
After a full day of shopping, and as evening rolls around, take in a show from the current season at The Warehouse Theater. This local treasure really lives up to its tagline, "intense, intimate, unexpected." Insider's Tip: The Theater's "Pay What I Can" first Sunday matinees offer a chance to see some amazing performances on a budget!
