So, what are you waiting for? Get on your bike and ride with me on one of my favorite cycling adventures...the "Tour de Greenville!"
Stage One - Easy for Everyone:
Begin downtown on the Swamp Rabbit Trail and head north about 10 miles to Furman University. This part of the ride is very rider-friendly (even for kids and beginners!). If you're just out for a short ride, enjoy touring around Furman's beautiful campus and then head back to town on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The round trip on this stage is a little over 20 miles.
Stage Two - More Challenging:
If you're up for a bit of a challenge, head over to Paris Mountain. This is one of my favorite places to ride, and we've even brought the USA Cycling National Championships here to Greenville with Paris Mountain being the star of the race! From the Swamp Rabbit Trail, you will ascend to the top of Paris Mountain (about 2.5 miles) and back down the other side (another 2.5 miles). Insider's Tip: Make sure you check your times for this leg of the tour, so you can compare them to those of professional USA Cycling National Competitors!
Stage Three - Ride Through Greenville History:
Once you reach the base of Paris Mountain, you can take Piney Mountain onto Rutherford Road and then on to beautiful Main Street, where you will see some of Greenville's most historic and beautiful homes.
Congratulations! You've just completed the "Tour de Greenville." Thanks for coming along and letting me share one of my favorite rides in town!
THAT Something Extra:
Two-wheeled adventure of a different kind!
Take a bit of a slower pace and try your hand at exploring downtown via Segway! Greenville Glides Segway Tours offers a unique opportunity to see our great city in a new way. Tours even include a 20-minute training class.
