Paris Mountain State Park

Paris Mountain is a monadnock—a mountain that stands alone. This small peak rises above the otherwise level land that surrounds downtown Greenville just 6 miles to the south. Paris Mountain State Park preserves the natural beauty and the heritage of this special place.

The park was built during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The former stone-and-timber bathhouse has been renovated and now serves as the Park Center. This center has a classroom and historical exhibits as well as a gift shop.

Paris Mountain has 15 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking and a 8-acre lake where visitors can swim, paddle, and fish. Kayak, canoe, and pedal-boating rentals are available on weekends. The 1,540-acre park also has a 15-acre reservoir, accessible by a 2-mile hike. Both lakes have bass, catfish, and bream.

Visitors can stay overnight at one of the park's 39 paved camp sites, each with individual water and electrical hookups. These sites include restroom facilities with hot showers. The park also offers trailside camping at 5 sites along the North Lake Loop. For larger groups, Camp Buckhorn offers 9 small cabins, each with two sets of bunk beds. The central lodge dining area includes a full kitchen and meeting room.

Paris Mountain State Park offers everything you could want in a mountain getaway while still only being 6 miles from downtown Greenville!
