This castle-like brick structure, built in 1902, once served as the Pickens County jail. In 1975 it became the Pickens County Museum of Art & History. Today, it has been expanded to hold permanent and changing exhibits of art, artifacts, and historic items.
There are art classes, lectures, book signings, art receptions, and other fun events throughout the year. Don't miss the lovely gift shop which offers the work of fine, traditional as well as folk artisans from around this area. Tours for school children and groups are available but you must make a reservation by calling Dan Brennan, Curator at the Museum at 864.898.5963.
