The Downtown Dribble presented by VisitGreenvilleSC is a FREE event for children ages 5-14 years old. It will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 2:30 pm.
Participants will dribble a short route from NOMA Square to Bon Secours Wellness Arena in celebration of the 2024 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament. Participants will receive a FREE basketball, a FREE event t-shirt at registration, and 1 Free Ticket to the 4:30 pm Saturday Semifinals.
1:00 pm: Registration and check-in begin at NOMA Square
1:15 - 2:15 pm: DJ begins and Stretching & Skills Stations open
2:15 pm: Stretching & Skills Stations close, participants to begin lining up for the Downtown Dribble
2:30 pm: The Downtown Dribble begins, Sunkist Soda SEC FanFare opens at Bon Secours Wellness Arena
Where should I park for the Downtown Dribble?
We suggest parking in one of Greenville's many Downtown parking garages! Check out our Downtown Parking resources to find the closest parking area. The Commons Garage is convenient to NOMA Square and located between the start and finish areas.
My child is participating in the Downtown Dribble. Can I walk with them in the Dribble?
Yes, parents and guardians may walk with their children in the Dribble. Since the start and end are in two different locations, parents and guardians are required to accompany their children along the route. Please note that basketballs and t-shirts are for youth participants only.
What if a participant loses control of a basketball?
Volunteers will be located along the Downtown Dribble route to round up any loose basketballs. Additionally, Greenville Police Department will be on-site to manage traffic. Safety announcements will be made during check-in and at the start of the Dribble to remind participants not to chase loose basketballs.
What is the Downtown Dribble route?
The Downtown Dribble will begin at NOMA Square, located on the N. Main Street block between Beattie Place and E. North Street. Participants will dribble along N. Main Street and turn right onto E. Elford Street. The Dribble will follow E. Elford Street until it meets N. Church Street, where Greenville PD will help pause traffic for participants to cross in groups to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena parking lot.
Where does the Dribble end?
The Downtown Dribble will end at Bon Secours Wellness Arena as participants cross N. Church Street and follow signage through the VIP Parking Lot to the Sunkist Soda SEC FanFare at Furman Plaza. Sunkist Soda SEC FanFare will feature games & activities, food trucks, and more!
Will basketballs be permitted into the game after the Downtown Dribble and Sunkist Soda SEC FanFare?
No, basketballs will not be permitted inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Downtown Dribble participants can leave them at the Basketball Check tent, located at the arena. Participants will check their basketball and take a ticket while attending Saturday's 4:30 pm game. After the game, participants will need to show their tickets to pick up a basketball. Any basketballs that are not claimed within 30 minutes after the end of the last game on Saturday evening will be donated to a local charity.
