While college visits offer a taste of many great things on-campus life has to offer, there's a whole world out there waiting to make your collegiate years some of the best of your life. In order to provide you with the inside scoop on the best of the off-campus experience, we went straight to the source: current students. From favorite places to best-kept secrets, dial up your sense of school spirit...then check out the itineraries below.

We asked Clemson student Laura Garvin what local favorites get her orange blood pumping. From The Esso Club to new boutiques, get ready to explore the best of Clemson. With this itinerary, you're going to earn your Tiger stripes.

1. Where is your favorite place to grab a bite to eat?

I love BGR The Burger Joint and The Esso Club because they are two Clemson originals. Both of these restaurants have fun, lively atmospheres and are conveniently located in downtown Clemson.

2. Where do you like to kick back when you've got some extra downtime?

Lake Hartwell is definitely my favorite off-campus hangout spot. Whether you're playing beach volleyball, fishing, sailing, swimming, or just relaxing in the sun, there is always something fun to do during the day. In the evening, my friends and I also love to take dinner by the lake and watch the sunset, or have a bonfire on the beach.

3. What is your go-to retail shop?

My favorite places to shop are definitely Entourage or Lansing Alayne. Both of these stores have super cute clothes and are conveniently located in downtown Clemson.

4. Where is your favorite place to get some fresh air and soak up some sun?

The Lake Hartwell Dikes are really popular spots to spend some time outside. It's a great place to take a jog or just relax with friends!

5. Where do you go for a change of study time scenery?

Clemson offers a ton of great spots, but "All-in" Coffee Shop and Moe Joe Coffee Co are two of my favorites. Both of these cozy coffee shops are great places to study.

THAT Something Extra:

Parent-Perfect Places to Eat

Blue Heron, Pixie & Bills, and Calhoun Corners are a few of the nicer restaurants with really great food! These are all perfect places to take your parents when they come in town to visit.
