As the former textile capital of the world, it should come as no surprise that Greenville has a fashionable side. In fact, there are many local designers that call Greenville home-from the design duo at Beija-Flor Jeans who've created the "World's Best Jeans" (O, the Oprah Magazine), to the classic Southern style megabrand Southern Tide, named one of the fastest growing companies in SC. Start saving your pennies and get ready to shop ‘til you drop!

First Round: North Main Street

The North Main area has been a hub for boutiques for years now, thanks to the Main Street presence of the Mast General Store, carrying everything from outerwear and local designer Coast Apparel, to penny candy barrels and housewares in the back. And any Greenville shopping trip would not be complete without a visit to the iconic men's store, Rush Wilson Limited, where men will find everything from custom suits, to seersucker blazers, and more bowties than days of the year. Insider's tip: Don't forget to check out Rush Wilson's supply of Kentwool socks, produced locally, right here in the Upstate!

A stroll along Main Street will bring you to the Traveling Chic Boutique, where inventory changes weekly and next-door neighbor Southern Fried Cotton offers a lesson in classic Southernisms on every T-shirt. Across the way, be sure to pop into Wish Boutique to snap up some accessories from the endless costume jewelry selection and grab one of their great crop tops or tunics!

Looking for some familiar shop names while walking around downtown? The recent addition of the ONE Building to the landscape has brought favorite shops like Anthropologie and Brooks Brothers to Greenville's trendy shopping scene. Insider's tip: Be on the lookout for two new shops that recently opened: Cone & Coleman and Taz Boutique!

Second Round: The West End and Augusta Street

Greenville's West End boom has led to the emergence of a number of great specialty shops! Get your high-end designer fix (think Milly, Shoshanna, and Tory Burch) at Monkees of the West End. Feeling more pink and green? Head next door to the Pink Bee for all the Lilly Pulitzer Palm Beach-inspired prints your eyes can handle.

Next, stop into Augusta Twenty where some of Greenville's most fashionable options can be found, including some amazing jewelry from Native Rainbow that you won't find anywhere else.

Continue on Augusta Street to Capers Place and find the jeans you've spent your whole life searching for. At the Denim Salon, experts will work with you to find the best possible fit for your body from their signature line, Beija-Flor Jeans. (Beija-Flor Jeans is also opening another location on Main Street in the West End, across from Falls Park on the Reedy; look for it in Fall 2014!) Insider's tip: Don't walk back to the car just yet! Pop into Savvy next door to find a great top to match your new pair of jeans.

The newly-opened Copper Penny is the place to get your designer fix with Diane Von Furstenberg signature wrap dresses and Citizens of Humanity jeans. Then, head across the McDaniel Village Shopping Center to Vestique to snap up some trendy and budget-friendly items for the season.

Finish up your day with a visit to Sassy on Augusta for more women's clothing and then rest your tired soles in Muse Shoe Studio (and yes, it's okay to try on everything in the store).
