Musky Fishing Trips

Musky fishing has become one of the more popular pursuits among local fly anglers in recent years. Known as the fish of 10,000 casts, these long, fickle fish can be elusive to the point of insanity. The French Broad River is home to a good population of these toothy critters, and DRO's guide staff loves to chase them. Musky trips aren't for the faint of heart. Anglers taking part in a Musky float should be okay with losing. Zero fish to the boat is common place. Will you see them? Probably, if conditions are right. Will you catch them? That's between you and the Musky. Anglers should possess the ability to cast a 10-12 weight fly rod with sinking line and an 8"-12" for a big part of a day. For those who don't fly fish, we also offer conventional tackle trips that open to anglers of all skill levels.
