Bold Whispers: Eric Benjamin and Michelle Jardines

Art & Light Gallery is pleased to present “Bold Whispers”, a two-person exhibition of recent work by Greenville, SC artists Eric Benjamin and Michelle Jardines launching on the Art & Light website at www.artandlightgallery.com/exhibitions and in the gallery at 10am (EST) on Tuesday, October 3 with an opening reception on Friday, October 6 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

While the artists differ in their approach to the painting medium, Benjamin and Jardines share a love for bold color and find inspiration in the vibrant hues and dynamic textures they observe in the natural world. Benjamin often employs a rich and saturated color palette, infusing his landscapes with a sense of energy and vitality. His brushstrokes are confident and expressive, capturing the essence of a moment in time. Jardines embraces a looser painting technique, combining blended and gestural brushwork to convey the moody and ever-shifting nature of the landscape.

As Benjamin and Jardines worked collaboratively to create the series of paintings included in Bold Whispers they used their hands as their primary painting tool. The artists feel that the use of their hands adds a sense of intimacy and immediacy to the work. They see the paintings as a reflection of their innermost thoughts and feelings, imbuing the representation of the landscape with personal meaning and a window into the deeper thoughts of the artists.
