The Parrini Trio “returns” to the Carolina Music Museum on April 17 at 7:30, but with a new family member playing the violin, playing a program that features trios by Beethoven, Brahms, and a work by award winning Greenville composer Jon Jeffrey Grier.
Fabio Parrini, regularly seen at the Carolina Music Museum, is a Steinway Artist, a Fulbright Scholar, a Kahn Award winner from Boston University, holds degrees from the Conservatory of Padua in Italy and from Boston University and is the Chair of the Piano Department at North Greenville University. His brother, Alberto, a graduate of the Curtis Institute and Juilliard, is principal cellist of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and a member of American Symphony and Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Alberto teaches cello at Princeton University and The College of New Jersey. In the summer, he teaches at Kinhaven (Junior Session), where he is also co-director of the Adult Chamber Music Workshop. Violinist NAHO Parrini—she and Alberto are married—is a native of Japan, has her MM (Master’s of Music) and DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and performs regularly with New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. She is a Resident Teaching Artist and Director of a pre-college program, Music Access Project at Bloomingdale School of Music in New York City. During the summer Naho is a violin faculty member of the Junior Session at Kinhaven Music School in Vermont.
