Carolina Youth Symphony

Carolina Youth Symphony’s 240 musicians, 2 concerts!

At 3:00pm the Repertory and Concert Orchestras will perform:
Mendelssohn 5, Reformation Symphony, Finale, arr. Leidig
Italian Folk Festival, arr. Jack Bullock
My Fair Lady, Lerner and Lowe, arr. Whitney
Repertory Orchestra Ginger R. Greer, Conductor
William Tell Overture - Rossini
Pavane - Faure
Symphonic Dances from Fiddler on the Roof - arr. Hearshen Concert Orchestra, James F. Kilgus, Conductor
Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for students

At 7:00pm the Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the winners of the Carolina Youth Symphony Concerto Competition:

Nolan Anthony, piano, performing Piano Concerto in A minor, opus 54 Mvt. I, - Robert Schumann

Sam Parrini, violin, performing Violin Concerto in E minor, opus 64 Mvts. II & III - Felix Mendelssohn

Dr. Leslie W. Hicken, Conductor

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for students

The Carolina Youth Symphony is one of the premiere youth orchestras in the South East, with 3 orchestras consisting of 240 gifted musicians from 2 states, 39 cities and 80 schools. There is a rigorous audition process in order to be accepted into the orchestra.
