Elisabeth Ladwig and Shane Miller

April 4: First Friday and Artist Reception 6:00 - 8:00pm

Elisabeth Ladwig (Highland, N.Y.) is an award-winning photographic artist living in the Hudson Valley. Ladwig’s current work explores modern surrealism, combining multiple photographs for seamlessly blended imagery. Once an idea is born in her sketchbook, Elisabeth gathers the photos needed to create the image. Photo shoots in her studio capture the subject and other staged elements, while other photographs are taken on her travels and dedicated field trips. She is always on the lookout for interesting props and vintage costumes and may handcraft part of a scene when the image calls for it.

Shane Miller (Nashville, T.N.) is a self-taught artist whose work explores the emotions of dreams, distant memories, and silent emotions left unexpressed. Miller depicts the landscapes of the mind in a quiet visual language that allows the viewer to reflect on the experience of the natural world. Miller seeks to create a feeling of nostalgia and melancholy in his work using a neutral color palette and thin, wispy washes of translucent oil paint
