Nature Discovery Program

The Nature Discovery Program is a drop off ONLY afterschool program open to elementary age students. This program will offer students the opportunities to engage with expert education staff and explore different areas around the Preserve. The topics covered each week will depend on students interests. Each session will start by letting students know what is happening in the Preserve and/or what tools they have to explore with that day. Then the group will choose their own adventure for the afternoon!

Ideally, students would attend multiple sessions of the Nature Discovery Program. The meetup location each session will vary. This will allow  as many different locations within the Preserve as possible to be explored with the group.

Thanks to Presenting Sponsor, Greenville Water.

K5-5th graders

1st child is $10, additional children are $8 each.

Meetup locations will change each session. Registered participants will be emailed prior to the event to let you know where to meet. Please add to your contact list so that the event emails do not get lost in your spam folder.

Please bring a water bottle. Sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before class.

These classes will be capped at 13 participants per instructor. All classes are taught entirely outdoors, where the chances of COVID-19 transmission are drastically reduced.

The fully vaccinated staff will make every effort to maintain distance, and when that cannot be achieved, to reduce the amount of time children are in close proximity to less than 15 minutes, per guidelines.

Anyone who wants to wear a mask is encouraged to do so.

Participants will be notified by noon the day of the class if it is cancelled due to weather.
