Want to keep summer camp alive all year long? Sign up to attend an Accelerate U pop-up camp at Greenville Tech! Each four-hour camp takes place during the course of a single day at our new Truist Culinary & Hospitality Innovation Center (CHI) in West Greenville. Open to current 9th through 12th graders, these one-day pop-up camps continue the summer camp fun and offer a glimpse into the life of a professional chef, with an emphasis on learning new techniques and enjoying delicious dishes made from scratch! Hone your baking and pastry skills, learn how to make mouthwatering savory entrees, and further your understanding of essential cooking techniques with Accelerate U.

Whether you're going to college, looking forward to living on your own, or just need to learn how to cook on a budget, enlist in this four-hour boot camp to get prepared with fundamental culinary skills. During this course, CHI's Chef Bill Twaler will teach you essential life skills in the kitchen, from creating a real-world budget to making a delicious meal with what's in your cupboard.

Class begins with a mystery basket protein, a budget and access to the CHI pantry. Chef Bill will help you plan out every dollar you have to spend as you create a menu and then "shop" for a variety of fresh vegetables, starches and staples from the CHI pantry. Based on your budget, you might make roast chicken with Greek potatoes, a fresh and delicious salad, or a mouthwatering pot pie. Whatever you make, Chef Bill will help you think about ways to make your dish taste incredible without breaking the bank.

At the end of class, you and your classmates will sit down to taste your creations and evaluate your success. You'll leave this pop-up camp with the skills to repurpose leftovers in tasty ways and techniques for maximizing every dollar you spend at the grocery store.
