Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women's Basketball Championship
The Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament will be coming back to Greenville, S.C. when Bon Secours Wellness Arena plays host to the 2023 event.
The Bon Secours Wellness Arena is a state-of-the-art 15,000 seat sports and entertainment venue. The Arena was opened on September 13, 1998 and has hosted award winning musical acts as well as a variety of events throughout the years.
Beginning with its inception and through 1986, the basketball tournament was held at campus sites. The tournament was then sent to Albany, GA, which served as the site for six years from 1987-92. Since then, the tournament has been held in multiple cities across the Southeast, including Chattanooga, Columbus, Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock, Greenville SC, Duluth, and Jacksonville.
The winner of the 13-game tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament seeds and conference champion will be determined by the 16-game regular-season SEC schedule.
