Whether you’re ready to break away from the hubbub of life or enjoy a date in rural Greenville County, hop in the car and take the peaceful drive 30 minutes south of downtown Greenville and 15 minutes from Simpsonville where you’ll find City Scape Winery. There you’ll find the owners, Josh and Deb Jones, and their winery family serving delicious, locally-made wines through personalized experiences that create beautiful memories.
It's true what they say: big things have small beginnings. In 2009, out of sheer boredom, Josh and Deb started watching wine-making tutorials before finding City Scape Winery, where they learned to make their first bottle of wine. Fast forward to 2015, when they were provided the opportunity to step into the wine business full-time and purchase the 12-acre property, becoming some of the youngest winemakers in the Southeast. Since then, City Scape has grown a reputation for amazing wines, beautiful surroundings, and a place to find rest and solace from the pressures of everyday life.
No matter the size of your group or the weather, the family will show you it’s always a good day for wine! A beautiful new indoor/outdoor production facility and tasting room opened earlier this year, with plenty of cozy indoor spaces on colder days and a covered porch and vineyard view patio for warmer days.
In Pelzer, SC at Josh, and Deb’s passion project, you’ll find a variety of wines to fit almost any palate or experience level. With over 25 different wines on offer, City Scape Winery offers sweeter, more innovative wines like their Raspberry White Zin, all the way to a dryer traditional barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon that will please any sommelier or chef.
At City Scape they ferment, age, filter, bottle, label, and cork all their wines right on property – knowing it’s the ultimate way to control the quality of their wines. They also routinely offer tours to help you better understand the wine-makers process
As you and your family sip your wine and enjoy your nibbles from the onsite kitchen, remember to walk through their vineyards and visit the world’s largest wine glass (their 45,000-gallon freshwater retention pond) or Pinot the Pig, their Director of Fun, in his playhouse nearby.
Visit City Scape Winery soon: they know you’ll taste a difference through the experience they deliver.
