Member Spotlight: Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery

This member spotlight was originally published in November 2019.

Owners Jac and Mary started the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery in 2011 after identifying a need for an outlet for small farmers and artisan food makers. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is a mission-based business that exists primarily for one purpose - to strengthen Greenville’s local food community by helping to make farmers and good food makers successful. The Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery is many different entities: a grocery, cafe, bakery, pizza joint, deli, and food hub. More than those things, they are a true community hub located right on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a short two-mile from downtown Greenville. They host events and have many outdoor amenities. They want their customers to see and interact with farmers and neighbors. As a testament to their efforts and the immense amount of support the café and grocery has received from staff and customers over the past eight years, The Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery buys more than $30,000 a week of local fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and meats directly from small family farms. They also sell produce boxes with local, seasonal, and often organic fruits and vegetables harvested by local farmers. Interested in making your holiday season a bit easier? The cafe and grocery sell sides, pies, turkeys, and hams to relieve any holiday stress. Interested in giving a unique gift? They offer a range of thoughtfully-sourced, artfully-arranged gift baskets and boxes made to order.

The Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery is proud to support the Greenville Community.
