Looking to channel the endless summer energy of your kids? When you’re nearby, a visit to The Children’s Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) may be just what they need! Since its inception in 2009, TCMU has welcomed families from next door, across the country, and all over the world.
Covering three floors, TCMU-Greenville is one of the nation’s largest children’s museums and among the first to become Smithsonian-affiliated. TCMU-Greenville's 80,000 square feet facility offers endless space for fun, learning, and engagement. It's an experience like no other for play-based learning, all while helping you to create lasting memories during your visit to #yeahTHATgreenville.
While a trip out with small children may require a lot of planning, the museum’s amenities are family-friendly and accommodating to all needs. Once inside TCMU you and your little ones are free to roam over 21 unique exhibit galleries that reflect programming in the areas of arts, humanities, sciences, health, nutrition, the environment, and community engagement.
During your visit, you may find a team member helping to facilitate one of the many free weekly programming opportunities, such as Story Time & More, steamWORKS, and Open Art Studios, providing opportunities for families to learn and discover together.
Passionate about their mission to “ignite a community of compassionate problem solvers through intentional and inclusive play while creating a world where no barrier is bigger than a dream” there simply isn’t a better space to play, learn, and dream.
As you make your summer plans, consider a visit to The Children’s Museum of the Upstate with your children aged toddler-twelve.
No kids, but you’re a kid at heart? The Children’s Museum of the Upstate invites you to attend their 13th birthday celebration, a special adult-only event, and fundraiser for the museum on July 30th from 7-10 PM. For this special event, guests can enjoy drinks and kid-inspired bites, The Science of Beer, art activations, 2000’s trivia and listen to hits from the 2000’s by DJ FWB. You don’t want to miss this birthday celebration!
