DOWNTOWN
DRIVING TOUR

Driving tours are a specialty of our offerings and are a great way to experience the city of Greenville, South Carolina in a more comprehensive way.

The Tour

A typical driving tour of downtown will cover both the West End and South/North Main St. areas including a visit to the beautiful Reedy River Falls and historic Court Square. Guests will learn about the development of the city from its origins to the great revitalization of the last decades.

Driving tours are especially good options for newcomers to Greenville, people looking to relocate, senior and church groups, business clients that you want to impress with our city, civic and social groups, reunions, regional tour groups, etc.

As always, vintage photographs depicting Greenville scenes and buildings will be shown throughout the tour to give you insights into how the city has changed and developed.

Tours will take place in a comfortable Ford Transit high-roof tour van. Digital photographs will be shown on a screen to provide insights into the information that you hear from the tour guide. Your tour guide, John Nolan, is a local historian and author of “A Guide to Historic Greenville, SC” and “The Lost Restaurants of Greenville, SC.

Rates:

$20 per individual for a tour in the 15 passenger van supplied by Greenville History Tours

Tour arrangements for other vehicles (guest-supplied cars, vans or buses) will be quoted upon request.

“Informative History Tour!”
John Nolan provided a wonderful, informative history tour of Greenville. His historical maps and pictures (on a screen in the van) enhanced the learning. His presentation was well organized but thankfully, not scripted. He was able to answer specific questions and locate pictures and maps easily.
