The Children's Museum of the Upstate

Conveniently located in Downtown Greenville, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) offers 80,000 square feet for fun, learning and play! As one of the nation’s largest children’s museums and one of the first to become Smithsonian affiliated, TCMU provides an experience like no other for play-based learning and hands-on engagement for all families.

Thirty unique exhibit galleries reflect programming in areas of arts, humanities, sciences, health, nutrition, the environment and community engagement. Families can grocery shop in Publix, climb to the top of Bib’s World–the museum’s outdoor playground–analyze and build in Construction Zone, or explore Grandma Betty’s farm, an exhibit specifically dedicated to children 5 and under.

Free weekly programming, such as Story Time & More and Open Art Studios, provide opportunities for families to further learn and discover together. Annual memberships offer unlimited visits to both TCMU locations in Greenville and Spartanburg.

By offering interactive exhibits and weekly programming, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate seeks to fulfill its mission of igniting a community of compassionate problem solvers through intentional and inclusive play. TCMU is one of South Carolina’s best places for families to discover, learn, imagine and play! Museum hours and more information can be found by visiting their website.
