Seven to Sip On: Coffee Gets Creative

From pour-overs to single-origin espressos and old-fashioned coffeehouses—Greenville knows how to satisfy your caffeinated cravings.

1. Coffee Underground

A cozy, below-street-level gathering spot featuring an underground theater with live shows and independent film screenings, this tucked-away favorite sits beneath Ristorante Bergamo off Main Street. 1 East Coffee St.; 864.298.0494.

2. Methodical Coffee

Mixing an ultra-sleek décor and a 1920’s cocktail lounge vibe, Methodical prominently features The Slayer, a high-end, hand-built espresso machine that churns out shots of caffeinated perfection. 101 North Main St., Suite D; 864.735.8407.

3. Port City Java

Port City Java’s menu includes coffee that is roasted fresh daily in Wilmington, NC as well as pure fruit smoothies, milkshakes and frappes. This bean-y coffeehouse also offers made-to-order breakfast and lunch!  11 South Main St.; 864.250.9040.

4. Due South Coffee Roasters

5. The Village Grind

Located in the emerging Arts District, this buzzy shop also serves as a meeting and activity hub for artists and shop owners in the Village of West Greenville. Exposed brick, concrete floors and heavy wooden beams lend a cool, industrial mill village feel. 1263 Pendleton St.; 864.915.8600.

6. Spill The Beans

This hip little coffeehouse and creamery is one of the city’s most popular “meet you at” places. Aside from a wide range of coffees and ice creams (with tasty mix-ins!), they serve up great views of Falls Park on the Reedy. 531 South Main St; 864.242.6355.

7. Tandem Creperie & Coffeehouse

Sweet and savory crepes pair well with pour-over and batch brews near the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. With bright yellow seats, exposed brick walls, and cycling decorations to match, you'll feel right at home in this cozy spot!  2 S. Main St., Travelers Rest; 864.610.2245.
