Baby, You Can Park Your Car—Downtown!
There’s nothing more frustrating than arriving in a new city for the first time and spending your first hour hunting for a parking space. In downtown Greenville, you’ll find ample parking in a variety of forms. From metered and 700 free, time-limited on-street parking spots to 14 easily identified public parking lots and structures, there are a lot more spaces than there are cars. You’ll also find bike racks conveniently located throughout the downtown area. Visitors with disability placards or license plates have special accessibility benefits which are listed here.
We all want to park within a few feet of our destination. And, of course, we all want to do it at the same time. Since Greenville has so much to offer downtown, parking is better with a little planning and a nice map:
The good news is that on-street parking is free (watch for time limits) as is the first hour of parking in city garages. The 2nd hour is $2, $1 per hour after that, and stay there all day and it will still only cost $7. Garage parking for special events is generally a flat $6. Each parking garage has an automated Pay-in-Lane station, which accepts cash (no coins), credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) and parking vouchers.
