Downtown Greenville

For most people, a trip to Greenville starts in the heart of our vibrant and energized Downtown. That's where you'll find and feel the pulse of this town best. Start with a stroll down our award-winning Main Street. This is a walking city, and step-by-step, you'll begin to get the very real sense that this is not like any other place you've visited.

Maybe it will be when you cruise through the one-of-a-kind boutiques and shops. Or when you step out onto Liberty Bridge at Falls Park on the Reedy and gaze down at the 28-foot waterfalls below. Maybe it'll be when you step inside Fluor Field, the Fenway Park replica that anchors our revitalized West End. Somewhere along the way, you'll come to realize that the quaint Southern charm remains alive and well—smiles and waves and friendly greetings will meet you at every turn.

That'd be enough for most places, but it's just the start here. Lined with pocket parks, art sculptures, and an incredibly diverse collection of restaurants, Downtown Greenville is a magnet for residents and guests alike 7 days a week. Busy and bustling, but as approachable as a backyard barbecue.

And that may be the magic of Greenville.

West Greenville

Greenville’s resurgence may have been led by its Downtown, but the chic factor has definitely been driven up by the Historic West End and the emergence of the Village of West Greenville. Anchored by historic buildings being lovingly renovated and tastefully updated, The Village is already home to many businesses, including galleries, service and design-based firms, retail stores, and restaurants. This is the part of town that even the local residents know will have something new to offer each and every time they head out the door. Seriously. It’s just a cool place to be. Think SoHo gone Greenville!

Augusta Road Area

Take Augusta Road south from Downtown, drive past some absolutely awe-inspiring historic homes and you’ll quickly find yourself immersed in the “05”. (That’s local speak for the zip code that encompasses this area.) While there’s no question that it’s all framed by some pretty fabulous residential neighborhoods, it’s also clear that there is some pretty terrific shopping to be done in this charming and historic part of town. Considered by many to be Greenville’s most unique shopping district, you’ll find a growing collection of shops, restaurants, and specialty stores to peruse and enjoy.

Cherrydale Point / North Greenville

Located just a few miles north of Downtown, Cherrydale Point is a rapidly expanding business area known for its services, shopping, and range of fast and casual dining options. It also serves as a gateway to nearby Furman University, Paris Mountain State Park, Travelers Rest, and all points north. Cherrydale Point Shopping Center, built in 2000 and expanding ever since, is the hub of popular retailers, eateries, and more. You’ll also find a multi-screen cinema complex, fitness facilities, banks, and more—as well as a growing number of residential neighborhoods in the surrounding area. 

Haywood Road / Greenville Convention Center Area

When you’re ready to get into some serious name-brand shopping, head for Haywood Road. While there’s no shortage of local charm and appeal—including one-of-a-kind retailers—this area is a regional shopping destination where you can find big-name furniture, jewelry, and apparel retailers, and Haywood Mall, which serves as home to more than 120+ specialty retailers and 4 major department stores. Haywood Road is also home to a growing collection of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Roper Mountain Road Area

Not too crowded, not too isolated and not too far from anything, the (just right) Roper Mountain area is a central location that is near major Interstates, close to great shopping and dining, and near the area’s kid-friendly Roper Mountain Science Center with its planetarium, the Daniel Observatory, living history farm, and butterfly garden. This is one of those “locals know this area” kind of spots. 

Woodruff Road Area

Just name it and you’ll find it here. Need a new woolly bugger to go fly-fishing? Check. Sequins and bling for a night out? Check. Several hundred hotel rooms for you and your closest friends? Check. Plus dozens of nationally known restaurants, shops, a 20-screen movie theater, fresh food, sporting gear, more restaurants, and more shops! Basically, this is ground zero for anything you need during your stay in Greenville. This area has to be seen to be understood. 

Pelham Road / Airport Area

Located on the popular Eastside of town, Pelham Road is super convenient to GSP International Airport—not to mention both the Michelin and BMW North American Headquarters—but still close to Downtown. With a growing collection of shops and boutiques, a wide range of full- and limited-service hotels offering accommodations to suit every need, and a bevy of fabulous local, regional and national chain restaurants that seem intent on keeping all of our visitors well-fed, Pelham Road has emerged as a very popular spot for both business and leisure travelers.
