A generous South Carolina community came together this month to make 10,000 sandwiches in one day to provide them to local food banks, schools, soup kitchens, and shelters, on National Sandwich Day.

The South takes a back seat to no one when celebrating the so-called “cold months” holidays. Although TV and movies always portray Christmas as a snow-filled holiday complete with sleigh rides, snowmen, and snowball fights, the South offers its own unique brand of celebration.

VisitGreenvilleSC teamed up with several hospitality brands to give 10,000 sandwiches to local food banks, schools, soup kitchens, and shelters on Nov. 3, which also happened to be National Sandwich Day.
In honor of National Sandwich Day, organizations came together to give back to the community, by way of giving away free sandwiches. Feed and Seed, along with Visit Greenville SC, collaborated for the event.
